Campaign Story

Hello, my name is Jennifer. I’m a retired U.S. veteran, a wife, and someone who has always dreamed of becoming a mother. My husband, Jacob, and I have held onto that dream through years of challenge and heartbreak, and we’re writing today to ask for your support in finally making it a reality.

Our journey began in 2019 when I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility. While stationed in San Diego, we started treatments at the Naval Medical Center, hopeful with each attempt. After several rounds, we received the devastating news that I had entered premature menopause and could no longer produce viable eggs. The dream we had worked so hard for felt shattered. This condition was later recognized as connected to my service, and I was medically retired in 2021. Even with that acknowledgment, the emotional weight of our lost hopes has been heavy to carry.

Now, we have been given a new chance. The VA has approved 100% coverage for a donor egg cycle with the Penn State REI clinic—a incredible gift. We’ve even found a wonderful donor. However, there is a remaining financial hurdle: the total cost is $14,300. A generous grant has provided $5,000, but we still need to cover the remaining $9,300 to move forward. Without this amount, we cannot begin the cycle that could finally bring us a child.
